Mumbai Day 34: Dhobi Ghat
The Dhobi Ghat is an open-air laundry located in South Mumbai. The complex houses thousands of residents who work on a twenty-four-hour cycle to wash linens from many of Mumbai's hotels and hospitals; though machine washes have recently been added to the complex, the majority of work is still done by hand. Families live in single-room residences which border the complex's orthogonal concrete vats.
